About the role

The Sr. System Reliability Engineer (SRE) guides and mentors other SREs and improves and protects the software and systems behind all of T-Mobile's IT services, including management of scalability, availability, latency, performance, security, and capacity. From designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to building next-generation T-Mobile applications on cloud-native platforms, SREs enable great customer experience and product innovation through continuous improvement of operational support.

The Compliance Campaign Management (CCM) team within T-Mobile's Identity Security and Access Management (ISAM) organization is leading a major transformation in logical access compliance. This role involves shaping and operating a platform where human expertise and AI agents collaborate to execute compliance operations with speed, consistency, and precision. You will own the reliability, scalability, observability, and continuous improvement of this compliance automation ecosystem.

This role is unique because you will:

  • Lead the reliability strategy for a rapidly growing compliance automation platform.
  • Partner with engineers, compliance professionals, and AI solutions to modernize access governance.
  • Build and enhance observability, resilience, and automation across cloud-native services and integrations.
  • Influence the operational foundations of an environment where AI agents and human operators collaborate.
  • Drive enterprise-scale outcomes that improve security, reduce risk, and strengthen audit readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize DevOps automation tools to enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for non-production environments.
  • Manage environments through automated server provisioning and pipeline configuration to support virtual machines.
  • Deliver software improvements that increase availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of IT services.
  • Create and maintain dashboards for continuous monitoring and health checks to improve service quality in non-production environments.
  • Contribute to software delivery process improvements including cloud enablement and microservices containerization.
  • Mentor and guide systems reliability engineers and vendor resources to support team development and performance.
  • Architect scalable, modular automation frameworks for compliance workflows to expand across new control types and compliance frameworks.
  • Design automated validation and accuracy verification patterns across agent and workflow pipelines for repeatable, measurable output quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience.
  • 4-7+ years of relevant experience in an Agile and DevOps environment.
  • Experience in one or more of: C, C#, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting in Shell and Perl.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, Cloudbees) and other automation tools.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Experience with APM tools like AppDynamics and logging tools like Splunk.
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (public/private).

Skills

  • Required: Python or comparable programming language experience.
  • Required: Red Hat Ansible or comparable orchestration technologies.
  • Required: Automation Architecture and Scalable Framework Design experience.
  • Required: Platform Engineering and Reusable Pipeline Design.
  • Preferred: Agentic workflow design, orchestration, and operational governance.
  • Preferred: Automated testing and output validation framework design.
  • Preferred: Human-in-the-loop system architecture for regulated workflows.
  • Preferred: API-first integration architecture for enterprise-scale automation platforms.
  • Preferred: Compliance or regulatory workflow automation in identity, access, or financial controls environments.

Pay

Base pay range: $98,500 - $177,700. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance, set at a percentage of eligible earnings in the prior year.
