Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the solution of difficult production, product, and process problems, especially at the system level.
  • Resolution of these problems typically requires knowledge and understanding of electrical (power, signal integrity, controls, electronics), mechanical, and optical subsystems and their interactions in the fabrication, integration, test, and operation of finished camera systems.
  • Take a lead role in planning and carrying out successful transitions of new products from development to pilot production and on into full production in accordance with the New Product Introduction process.
  • Identify needs for production resources, documentation, training, tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and lead or coordinate efforts to complete these activities on time and within budget.
  • Play a lead role in make versus buy decisions. Report on progress on a regular basis.
  • Identify and capture opportunities for product, process, reliability, and cost improvements. Conduct testing as appropriate to verify that as-produced product meets customer specifications and requirements in a consistent and reliable manner.
  • Prioritize and lead efforts to implement improvements.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering to ensure that new products can be readily produced, customized, and tested. Concurrently prepare for transition to pilot production so that transitions can be conducted rapidly and with a minimum of disruption.
  • Work with Purchasing to assure that multiple sources are available for all purchased parts.
  • Interact closely with Quality Assurance and Customer Service to analyze failures, identify root causes, and improve manufacturing processes and product designs accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline required with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience in electrical systems, system integration, and manufacturing support for complex technical products.
  • Experience supporting electrical integration, system test, or troubleshooting of imaging, sensor, or electro-optical systems preferred.
  • Experience with infrared or Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) camera systems preferred.
  • Experience with optics, mechanical, and systems engineering preferred.
  • Experience in leading new product introductions from Engineering to Manufacturing a plus.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.

Pay

$96,600.00-$128,800.000
