Sr. Systems Engineer, Test Equipment Engineering

As a Sr. Systems Engineer in Test Equipment Engineering, you will work as part of a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team to design, develop, integrate, and deploy Automated Test Equipment for use across development and production programs. You will be responsible for Test System Design Specification Requirements (gathering and analysis), system design verification/validation, and test system documentation. This role involves collaboration with key stakeholders across Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and IPT, as well as interfacing with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers to provide guidance and mentoring. You will also help implement and improve company and industry-standard best practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop test system requirements and test system design specifications.
- Develop and present Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews.
- Develop Validation/Verification Procedures and execute Validation/Verification of test systems.
- Create Test System Documentation, including User’s Manual, System Maintenance, and Calibration procedures.
- Ensure commonality (modular design) across systems to maximize re-usability.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a laboratory environment.
- Promote and implement company and industry-standard best practices.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering is required.
- 7+ years’ experience in Test Engineering / Test Equipment design of power and/or electromechanical systems.
- Experience with Environmental Testing including MIL-STD-461 (EMI) and/or MIL-STD-810 (Environmental) Testing is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize, supervise, and control work in one or more projects concurrently.
- Experience in executing a project from beginning to end.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Work Environment
This position entails exposure to typical manufacturing environments (e.g., Machine Shop, Assembly, Testing) with appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection as required. It also involves a business office environment with regular use of telephone and personal computer. Work under pressure and overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
- May be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
This position is located at our Parsippany, NJ office.
Pay
$110,000 - $130,000 per year.
