About the role
The Senior Systems Engineer at V2X will support the development and integration of advanced systems including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems. Responsibilities
- Provide program support throughout the development life cycle, from concept development to system implementation, integration, verification, and validation.
- Work within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) to ensure effective communication and team building.
- Utilize modern development processes and techniques to improve product quality and team productivity.
- Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve problems.
- Lead, direct, and guide multi-discipline teams in the development and integration of complex systems.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality work products on schedule.
- Understand and apply the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- At least five (5) years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering.
- Experience with development, integration, and test of complex systems onto air, sea, and/or ground platforms.
- Experience with requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
- Experience utilizing requirements management tools (such as DOORS, DNG, or similar platforms) to capture, organize, track, and maintain program requirements.
- Experience performing impact assessments for requirements changes.
- Experience with test execution including test plan and procedure development.
- Experience troubleshooting complex avionics and/or weapon systems including external interfaces and test equipment in real time when issues arise.
- Experience applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve problems.
- In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong accountability with the ability to work autonomously to deliver high quality work products on-schedule.
Skills
- Experience with agile development methods to deliver engineering solutions.
- Experience with the Universal Armament Interface (UAI) including previous support of integration of weapon systems on airborne and ground platforms.
- Experience with the design, development, and integration of UAI Mission Stores, Type I and Type II Carriage Systems.
- Knowledge and experience working with digital data standards such as: MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, Radio Frequency (RF) communication, and ENET protocols.
- Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools, and languages.
