Sr Systems Engineer

About the role

Stand8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India. We are seeking a Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure with a strong focus on system and application engineering, Active Directory administration, and privileged access management. This role will maintain secure and reliable Windows and Linux environments while partnering with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities identified through CISA remediation activities, penetration testing, and security assessments. The position will also support enterprise applications, automate administrative tasks, and strengthen access controls, system hardening, and infrastructure performance.

Location & Work Type

Location: Long Beach, California. Work Type: Onsite. 100% onsite with an early start time. Nobody with a long commute will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, and access controls.
• Manage administrative accounts, privileged credentials, and access permissions across enterprise systems.
• Engineer, deploy, and support Windows/Linux server environments and enterprise applications.
• Support enterprise storage, data center, DNS, Azure, and networking environments, including Cisco or HPE switches.
• Implement least privilege access models and support identity and access management practices.
• Partner with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and penetration testing findings.
• Support CISA remediation activities and address findings identified through security assessments.
• Maintain system security through patching, configuration management, and hardening.
• Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering.
• Strong experience with Active Directory, GPO management, and identity/access administration.
• Experience managing privileged accounts and credential security.
• Familiarity with penetration testing remediation, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
• Experience with Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure.
• Candidates need to have strong knowledge with Windows, PowerShell, Linux, Storage, DC, AD, Azure, DNS and have some Cyber security background, networking skills, Cisco or HPE switches will be a plus.

Preferred (Optional):

• Scripting experience with PowerShell or similar tools preferred.

Pay

The base range for this contract position is $75–$85 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
