Sr. Survey Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Sr Survey Technician at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for Preparing metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits and various mapping products.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

• Prepares metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits and various mapping products
• Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps
• Compiles information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans
• Compares survey computations with applicable standards in order to determine adequacy of data
• Collects information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information
• Prepares topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Surveyor-in-Training certification by the Texas Board of Land Surveying, or
• Level II Certified Survey Technician certification

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of survey experience
• Project scheduling
• CADD experience is required and TxDOT experience is a plus
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
• Right Away experience is a plus
