Survey Technician/Sr Survey Technician
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafts subdivision plats, boundary surveys and easement plats
- Prepares parcel descriptions
- Prepares staking maps for subdivisions, infrastructure improvements and site plans
- Prepares cutsheets and construction take-offs
- Drafts topographical surveys and creates digital terrain models
- Performs limited courthouse research
- SUBMITS PLATS FOR JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL
- WORKS CLOSER WITH THE PROJECT MANAGER AND GROUP LEADER
- MAY SUBSTITUTE IN THE FIELD WHEN NECESSARY
- PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Information Sciences or related field or a minimum of three years of progressive survey field experience
- Experience working with GPS and 3D laser scanning a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reads, analyzes and interprets documents such as safety rules, scope of services, project budgets, jurisdictional platting & submittal requirements, and procedure manuals
- Understands and follows instructions
- Understands and reads deed descriptions, title reports, zoning reports, survey plats, DOT plans, engineering drawings, and aerial topographic mapping
- Understands and performs mathematical concepts such as trigonometry and geometry
Compensation
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $27-$50/hr. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
