Indian Ministry of Defence (IMoD) has an enduring requirement for airborne ISR platforms using MQ-9B aircraft, purchased from GA-ASI. The IMoD will rely on General Atomics Global India Pvt Ltd., (GAGIPL) to develop the infrastructure for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) required to operate and sustain the Indian MQ-9B aircraft. To fulfill this requirement GAGIPL is hiring additional Indian-national support personnel. Under general direction, this position is responsible for developing and managing the local supply base and supply chain infrastructure in India for GAGIPL ensuring compliance with both local Indian regulations and GA corporate policies. This individual will report to Director (India Ops) through the Head of Technical Operations. Areas of responsibility include supplier identification, evaluation, localization, qualification, on boarding, and performance management. Contract and purchase order execution will be performed primarily by US-based counterparts. This role will collaborate closely with those teams to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier readiness. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones. Duties And Responsibilities Supply Chain & Supplier Development Identify, evaluate, and develop potential suppliers and subcontractors in the Indian market ensuring alignment with GAGIPL and GA corporate policiesConduct supplier capability assessments, including quality systems, capacity, financial stability, and compliance with applicable regulationsSupport source selection decisions by providing supplier assessments, risk analyses, and total cost of ownership evaluations to US-based procurement teamsWork with suppliers to improve performance in quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness, including development of corrective and preventive action plansSupport localization and indigenization initiatives in line with program and regulatory requirementsSupport US-based procurement teams with local market intelligence, supplier data, and cost inputs in support of purchase order and subcontract awardsSupport the administration of subcontracts from a performance and supplier management perspective, including monitoring delivery, quality, and adherence to program requirements Supplier Relations & Evaluation Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers and subcontractors in the Indian market, with a focus on building a robust local supply baseConduct supplier assessments and maintain approved vendor lists, and drive supplier development plans to close capability gaps where neededBuild and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, adherence to delivery timelines and cost objectivesAct as a primary local interface to suppliers for operational and performance issues, escalating commercial or contractual matters to US-based procurement teams as neededNegotiation & Problem ResolutionSupport price and commercial analyses and provide negotiation inputs to US-based procurement teams to help achieve optimal valueParticipate in discussions with suppliers to clarify technical and commercial requirements, and support negotiation of standard and non-standard subcontract provisionsIdentify supply chain and supplier performance issues and works collaboratively to develop practical solutionsLead local resolution of supplier performance issues and disputes in coordination with US-based procurement and program management as appropriate.
