PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Senior Supply Chain Planner leads the planning and coordination of supply chain activities to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely delivery of products. This role involves advanced demand forecasting, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Seasoned experienced professional leading the development and implementation of demand forecasting and inventory planning strategies.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance and reliable supply.
  • Analyze complex supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on supply chain performance.
  • Develop professional expertise, and applying company policies and procedures to maintain target inventories at appropriate levels to meet inventory goals.
  • Ensures that production always has the materials needed to run without interruption or stock out.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
  • Responsible for planning, ordering, analyzing, and management of raw materials required for multiple Manufacturing Plants.
  • Utilize SAP MRP to develop raw material requirements by week, month, and year for multiple Manufacturing Plants.
  • Prepare requisitions to obtain materials for production and sterilization shipments.
  • Cook up all raw material shipments to the other facilities.
  • Cook up the purchasing and delivery of raw materials and consumables as required for production to operate with no downtime due to lack of materials.
  • Works with Purchasing to evaluate vendor capacities, up to 18 months into the future, to identify and proactively resolve potential issues.
  • Write Quality Feedback Notices, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) (QFN) as needed to resolve raw material non-conformance issues.
  • Provides information to Purchasing and Quality Supplier Engineer if material is needed for replacement.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle.
  • Determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules.
  • Cook up the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure on-time deliveries and to update required changes to existing orders.
  • Maintain demand for materials and production consumables in the system.
  • Work with various departments, prepare documents from MRP system as needed for new products or updating existing documentation (i.e. bills of material, material masters, material parts specifications, routings, work centers, etc.).
  • Cook up any special requirements or delays in material availability so that any required schedule changes or extra preparation or accommodations can be made to prevent production delays or downtime.
  • May assist junior-level staff with general tasks that require a better understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • May refer to senior-level staff for assistance with higher-level problems that may arise.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Absorb and assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Ability to travel as necessary to meet supply chain systems demands / requirements, less than 25% Travel.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered Major’s Preferred: Engineer, MIS, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration

Experience and Skills

3-5 years of relevant experience. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Strong oral and written communication skills. Advanced knowledge of, Windows, Word, and Excel.
