About the role

The Sr. Supervisor, Materials and Inventory Control oversees material flow, inventory accuracy, and compliance with ERP processes for parts and finished goods. This role leads and develops staff, manages cycle counting, resolves discrepancies, and implements process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency. The position is also responsible for communicating progress and issues to senior management and performing key administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee material flow, receipt, and movement of parts and finished goods, ensuring compliance with ERP and inventory control processes.
  • Manage cycle counting, resolve inventory discrepancies, and drive improvements in inventory accuracy and control programs.
  • Lead and develop staff, assign work, evaluate performance, and ensure adherence to safety and personnel policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, improve first pass yield, and increase warehouse and material flow efficiency.
  • Communicate progress, developments, and issues to senior management; perform administrative functions including reporting, approving expenditures, and purchasing decisions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field, 4+ years’ experience in materials management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field, 2+ years’ experience in materials management.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field.
  • JD/PhD in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or a related field.
  • In lieu of degree, 6+ years of experience in materials management.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and supply chain processes, including material movement and cycle counting.
  • Experience with material handling change processes and manufacturing process flow.
  • Proficient in computer applications and inventory control systems.
  • Familiarity with plant operations, equipment, and MTU products.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a materials or inventory control environment.

Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
