About the Role
This position oversees departmental activities, ensures productivity, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Supervisor collaborates with management and Human Resources to manage team performance, training, and process optimization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean workstation and follow all safety requirements.
- Perform duties that require significant walking, climbing stairs, and working at heights up to 40 feet.
- Stand for extended periods and lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motion activities and use manual dexterity for computer/calculator operation.
- Work flexible shifts as needed and follow instructions from the department manager.
- Enforce departmental procedures and work instructions.
- Assist in managing all departmental activities and perform associated administrative functions.
- Participate in daily production meetings and provide data in the manager’s absence.
- Suggest and implement continuous process improvements.
- Participate in developing and implementing departmental policies and budgets.
- Assist employees in setting goals and performance standards.
- Ensure employees follow procedures and maintain productivity levels.
- Oversee research and investigation of process discrepancies.
- Train employees on new systems, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, coaching, counseling, and terminations.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity through better techniques and training methods.
- Determine daily labor needs and prepare cost and labor reports for management.
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of prior leadership experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Completion of 30 days of on-the-job training under direct supervision.
- Successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training, if required for the role.
- High School diploma or GED (required); Associate or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Work Environment
- May be exposed to low or elevated temperatures and dusty environments.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, and working at heights up to 40 feet.
- Requires lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Involves repetitive motion activities and manual dexterity for operating equipment.
- Flexible shifts may be required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This role includes supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, coaching, counseling, and terminations in collaboration with Human Resources.
