About the role

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for the overall field leadership, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial construction projects exceeding $50 million in Palm Beach County and surrounding South Florida markets. This role oversees all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all field operations from preconstruction through project closeout on projects valued at $50M+
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including short-interval (3-6 week) look-ahead schedules
  • Cookordination with Project Managers to ensure alignment on schedule, cost, subcontractor performance, and procurement activities
  • Drive project milestones, identifying and resolving potential delays or conflicts proactively
  • Supervise and mentor assistant superintendents, field engineers, foremen, and trade partners
  • Build, lead, and maintain strong jobsite culture focused on accountability, safety, and performance
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors and internal teams
  • Enforce and promote a strong safety culture consistent with OSHA, company policies, and local regulations
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure all subcontractors comply with safety requirements
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation when necessary
  • Ensure all work meets plans, specifications, codes, and owner expectations
  • Implement and manage quality control programs and inspections throughout all project phases
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and inspectors for approvals and issue resolution
  • Manage subcontractor activities, sequencing, and jobsite logistics
  • Ensure subcontractors meet scheduling, quality, and safety expectations
  • Resolve field conflicts and coordination challenges across multiple trades
  • Document maintenance of daily reports, logs, and documentation of jobsite activity
  • Track and report progress against schedule and key milestones
  • Aid in managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders as they impact field operations
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative for owners, architects, inspectors, and local officials
  • Maintain strong relationships with municipal authorities, especially for public-sector projects
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 15- 20+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 5 years as a lead or senior superintendent on projects exceeding $50M
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale hospitality, municipal, or institutional projects
  • Strong knowledge of South Florida building codes, permitting processes, and environmental considerations
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP systems, and site logistics for complex builds
