Job Summary
VARITE is seeking an Assoc Director Commercial Services/ Sr. Category Manager in Foster City, CA. The position offers a 12-month contract with a pay rate range of $100.00 - $107.91/hr on a W2 basis. Only US citizens or green card holders are eligible.
Responsibilities
Develop category strategies to deliver value by achieving cost savings and improving quality and service levels by identifying opportunity areas such as standardization and supplier consolidation.
Oversee all spend activity and purchase requests for assigned category areas and determine proper action plan for all purchases that meet the procurement involvement threshold.
Provide category subject matter expertise to the associated business group and Procurement functions.
Support Commercial category strategies with spend analytics, supplier benchmarking, and RFP execution support.
Cook up Commercial supplier communications, data gathering, and performance tracking.
Effectively work with Procurement Business Partner and business groups as a trusted advisor to determine desired product/service specifications and projected demand when making recommended action plans.
Collaborate with Procurement functions and business groups to ensure that all spend above established thresholds are managed strategically.
Collaborate with Procurement colleagues including Supplier Inclusion and Procurement Operations to create standard and repeatable process to integrate business diversity and responsible procurement into overall value proposition.
Proactively identify improvement opportunities for assigned category and recommend key actions to the appropriate stakeholders.
Execute initiatives to classify suppliers and manage supplier relationships according to defined supplier relationship management standards.
Combine all spend information into yearly plans and long-term forecasts for costs, savings targets, and planned projects.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree. MBA preferred.
Experience: 5+ years Strategic Sourcing/Procurement experience, Category Management, Contract Negotiation, Performance Measurement, Contract Negotiation, Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management experience.
Skills: Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodology with pragmatism to manage exceptions; Ability to develop category and sourcing strategies by identifying opportunity areas; Track record of effectively directing and leveraging procurement spend in assigned category areas by leading global cross functional teams; Experience managing and maintaining strong supplier relationships; Strong leadership presence and negotiation/contract management experience; Extensive knowledge and experience with procurement/spend systems data and analysis; Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities to develop sourcing team; Ability to apply change management and consulting skills/knowledge and expertise.
