About the role

The Amazon EC2 Solutions Architecture team is looking for an experienced Solutions Architect who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for helping customers optimize their workloads using Amazon EC2 Spot Instances. This role involves working with customers globally, partnering closely with engineering, business development, and technical field teams to drive the adoption of EC2 Spot for fault-tolerant and flexible compute workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain-aligned GTM teams to unblock your customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public-speaking events like AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best-in-class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution, experience developing or delivering training programs across multiple sites or regions, and proficiency debugging and troubleshooting applications developed in Java, Ruby, Python, C/C++, Go, or Rust. They should also have 7+ years of designing, implementing, operating, and consulting on distributed applications (cross-AZ/cross-region), including running containers at scale with orchestration technologies such as EKS, ECS, and Karpenter.

Qualifications

  • Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.
  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent, or 4+ years of technical work experience.
  • AWS certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification.

Skills

Technical acumen with the ability to understand customer IT landscapes, identify opportunities, overcome technical obstacles, and influence AWS adoption aligned with business requirements.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 annually.

Schedule

Travel required: willingness to travel to client locations as needed (~30%).
