About the role

At Schwab, the Finance and Regulatory Reporting Technology team provides business technology strategy, solutions, and support for Schwab's Corporate Controller, Financial Planning & Analysis, Regulatory Reporting, and Profitability Analysis functions. Our team is committed to delivering innovative technology solutions aligned with Schwab’s purpose and values, and our Corporate Strategic Plan.

We are looking for a Software and Test Engineer to create, maintain, support, and improve complex technology operations for our core finance planning and profit analysis platforms, with a focus on continuous improvement (CI/CD) of processes by applying modern engineering principles around DevOps. You will collaborate with a team of talented technologists and subject-matter experts to provide value by seeing the world “Through Clients' Eyes.”

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and identify trends and patterns in datasets.
  • Identify data anomalies and provide recommendations on additional data needed to support analytics.
  • Analyze work at hand and make decisions based on specific objectives.
  • Design and develop new PeopleSoft processes.
  • Assist in defining and implementing new processes within the PeopleSoft platform, ensuring solutions are efficient, reliable, and tailored to meet core finance planning and profit analysis needs.
  • Develop application programming interfaces (APIs) to support integration and interoperability across various finance and regulatory reporting systems.
  • Utilize advanced SQL skills to manage, query, and analyze data, enabling robust data management and supporting business intelligence efforts.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Perform general integration and acceptance testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated real-world experience in object-oriented languages.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Current working experience with Schwab systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of domain-specific toolsets for conducting analysis.
  • Ability to consolidate, organize, and convey complex problems.

Skills

  • REST and SOAP web services.
  • SQL.
  • Event Mapping.
  • Shell scripting.
  • SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Agile and Scrum processes, including planning, implementation, support, change, and release management.
  • Capacity planning.
  • DevOps and operations.
  • Finance-related systems and processes.
  • PeopleSoft Financials (GL, AP, PO, AR, and AM).
  • PeopleSoft Test Framework.
  • Control-M.
  • Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) (1+ years of experience).

Pay

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.

Schedule
