Sr Specialist Member of Technical Staff – Device Analytics and AI

About the role

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered. At AT&T, we are building the next generation AI platform that powers intelligent customer experiences, device analytics, and network-aware applications.

Responsibilities

This role partners closely with Product, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Network organizations to accelerate AI innovation across AT&T. Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices supporting AI-powered applications.
• Build reusable platform capabilities that enable AI solutions.
• Develop backend services integrating customer, device, and network data into AI workflows.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to productionize machine learning and GenAI models.
• Design secure, reliable, and highly available cloud-native architectures.
• Optimize API performance, scalability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Product Management and cross-functional teams to deliver AI platform capabilities.
• Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards, and software development best practices.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong software engineering experience developing scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Experience building cloud-native applications using modern software architectures.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
• Knowledge of AI/ML platforms and model integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• 1+ years of software engineering or platform development experience.
• Experience developing enterprise APIs and platform services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Experience working with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with AI, GenAI, LLMs, or Agentic AI technologies.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $128,100.00 - $205,800.00 USD Annual.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.
