Duties

  • Work performed under limited supervision.
  • Must be experienced in OSHA 1910 General Industry.
  • Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments.
  • Assists in accident investigations and recommends corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to identify and eliminate non-compliance issues.
  • Manage projects related to energetics and safety; including participation in incident investigation, risk management, and process hazard analysis.
  • Conduct training and communication campaigns to raise site-wide awareness.
  • Serve as interface and liaisons with employees, manager, customers, auditors, and regulators.
  • Some travel required

Skills

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years' experience working in an Aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years' experience in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry.
  • Experience in OSHA 29 CFR 1926 experience is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of standards, OSHA, OSHA PSM, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI including familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations is desired.
  • Experience in project management is desired.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
  • Served as interface and liaisons with employees, manager, customers, auditors, and regulators.
  • An ideal candidate would be highly self-motivated and analytical with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-function/cross-site teams is preferred.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
  • Read and understand facility site schematics and building design plans.
  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) 4145.26M is desired.
  • Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software such as ArcGIS and ArcMap.
  • Knowledgeable in munitions, explosives, and energetic materials, and related disciplines, the effects of munitions, the means of preventing or reducing explosive mishaps, and the relationship between quantity-distance siting criteria and personnel safety.
  • A high level of communication skills and an understanding of escalation requirements to higher authorities.
  • Experience and/or training knowledge of Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, Lock Out Tag Out, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety NFPA 70E and Propellant, Energetics & Pyrotechnics.

Education

  • Requires strong knowledge of job area. Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline.
  • May have broad knowledge of project management.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
