About the role
The Senior Environmental Specialist will serve within our EHS team on our Environmental Services team as a technical resource for environmental matters across pipeline and terminal operations.
Responsibilities
- Managing soil and groundwater remediation activities
- Coinciding with contractors and regulatory agency interactions
- Supporting environmental permitting and compliance programs
- Providing waste management expertise
- Overseeing environmental vendors and service contracts
- Offering technical guidance on remediation, hazardous waste, PCB, asbestos, due diligence efforts, incident response activities, environmental risk evaluations, and other environmental compliance matters
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 8+ years’ experience in the environmental field
- Experience with soil/groundwater remediation
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and adapt to changing due dates
- Demonstrated organization, attention to detail and communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills (e.g. scope control, vendor management, risk evaluation, cost optimization, etc.)
- Capable of working independently and delivering timely and accurate results
- Able to manage workload independently and deliver timely and accurate results
- Able to work well under restricted timelines and in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Able to provide excellent customer service across all levels of the organization
- Able to drive a company vehicle and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
- PREFERRED: Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science/geology/engineering or related field experience
- PREFERRED SKILLS: OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training
