Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and capital project requirements.
- Lead complex RFQ and RFP events, including scope development, supplier communications, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
- Conduct supply market research, supplier assessments, and risk analyses to support sourcing decisions.
- Lead commercial negotiations for strategic supplier agreements while managing contract development and legal review.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage supplier qualification programs, approved supplier lists, and supplier performance scorecards.
- Coordinate supplier business reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop total cost of ownership analyses, weighted evaluation scorecards, and sourcing recommendations for leadership.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to support business continuity.
- Mentor junior sourcing professionals by guiding sourcing techniques, procurement best practices, and work quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of strategic sourcing experience, including ownership of complex sourcing events and competitive RFP/RFQ processes.
- Experience developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier evaluations, and producing award recommendations independently.
- Proven commercial negotiation experience with supplier contract development and execution.
- Strong analytical skills, including total cost of ownership analysis, supplier market assessment, and evaluation scorecard development.
- Experience collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and cross-functional business stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills with experience preparing sourcing documentation, executive summaries, and supplier communications.
- Experience with SAP or another ERP platform for procurement, supplier management, or contract administration preferred.
- Utility, power generation, EPC, industrial manufacturing, or Oil & Gas procurement experience preferred.
- Professional sourcing certifications such as CPSM or CPSD are a plus.
