About the role

AWS is looking for a Solutions Architect to help accelerate the U.S. Federal Civilian Government business supporting research within Federal Civilian agencies as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. You will own driving AWS cloud computing adoption and solutions with Department of Energy Labs in the Western United States. You will have the opportunity to shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of AWS utility computing services directly with customers and system integrators. You will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership while working with a sales and business development team, and lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.

Key job responsibilities

  • Helping U.S. Federal Civilian Government organizations implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems
  • Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
  • Defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
  • Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services

Basic qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • Associate's degree or above, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Up to 30% travel required

Preferred qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

Pay

  • USA, VA, Arlington: 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Herndon: 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
  • Final compensation determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
