About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and AWS Partners.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical engagement around specific implementation projects
• Providing best practices to customers
• Developing deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
• Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world class sales and business development team
• Leading efforts to capture and share best-practices within the AWS Solution Architect community

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Experience working with end user or developer communities

Pay

Base salary range: USA, VA, Arlington - 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
USA, VA, Herndon - 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
