About the role
As a Sr. Solution Design & Data Insights Analyst, you will develop analytical models and data-driven insights that support NewCold's solution design process for customers in new and existing locations throughout North America. You will work directly with Executive and Director level Business Development staff to translate customer data into models, business cases, and clear recommendations. You are a hands-on analytical thinker who enjoys programming, crunching numbers, and explaining technical models to stakeholders without a technical background.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the solution design process during the business development phase and collaborate with department specialists, Business Development Managers, and Site Managers.
- Develop, validate, and document analytical models using SQL, Python, Power BI, and Excel to support customer business cases.
- Ensure all customer requirements, data, assumptions, and team expectations are known, while translating customer needs into the business development process.
- Thoughtfully articulate, present, and document proposed customer solutions, including complex technical models in clear nontechnical language.
- Manage data analysis, research, modeling, and reporting for potential and existing NewCold customers.
- Use data, programming, and research to co-create commercial proposals for new customers and internal and external stakeholders, including NewCold executive and investor leadership.
- Enhance and maintain business environment intelligence, including customer data, competitor overviews, industry information, and macroeconomic information.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience or a Master's Degree in industrial engineering, data analytics, supply chain analytics, operations research, or a related field.
- Background in data analytics or solution design with experience taking a consultative and relationship-oriented approach.
- Highly analytical with a love for numbers, data, programming, and problem-solving.
- Strong SQL experience and comfort working with large, structured datasets.
- Experience building models, dashboards, or automated analyses in Python, Power BI, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical models, assumptions, and conclusions to stakeholders without a technical background.
- Familiarity working in a hands-on and fast-paced culture.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mathematics, or related technical degree.
- Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
