About the role
The Senior Solution Architect, Automation will primarily be responsible for driving large, complex sales pursuits with the Mid-to-Enterprise organizations. He/she will have a deep knowledge of Material Handling Equipment, Automation and Robotics specifically in the areas of Retail/CPG, Wholesale & Distribution, and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Automation Sales team to properly qualify business opportunities for enVista services
- Present to executive levels of organizations and assist with preparation of formal proposals
- Perform opportunity analysis to understand customer needs, both business and technical
- Work with Sales team to identify customer pain points and define potential solutions, project scope, and competition landscape
- Solution planning and design that architects an appropriate technical solution aligned to the customer's requirements
- Investigate and optimize the solution's fit to the requirements of an opportunity
- Modify the solution design to align with new requirements
- Establish the legitimacy of a solution and its components
- Foresee some of the potential challenges for the proposed solution
- Maintain excellent communications with customer and Microsoft reps involved
- Represent enVista as a technical expert with partners and customers, sharing knowledge within your area of expertise
- Advance opportunities through the use of effective consultative selling techniques
- Communicate and articulate the roles of each component within the proposed customer solution
- Actively support the sales team with solution advice, proposals, presentations, and other customer communications
- Perform additional duties as required
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Automation/Robotics Design and Supply Chain Transformation
- 7-10 years in Sales, Pre-Sales or Consultative role
- Experience with architecting solutions serving mid-market organizations ($250M - $3B+)
- Industry experience in Retail/CPG, Wholesale Distribution, and/or Manufacturing
- Knowledge of Hytrol Conveyors and FANUC Robots (a plus)
- Experience with AutoCAD (a plus)
- Solid presentation skills and strong business acumen
- Intellectual inquisiveness, especially around emerging enterprise technologies
- Highly versed in complex sales processes
- Strong interpersonal, management, and presentation skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to recognize observations and translate them into business opportunities
- Must be ambitious and demonstrate strong initiative

- This role will be based in our Willowbrook, IL office; expected annual travel up to 35%
