About the role

Develops, documents, tests, debugs and maintains software product applications; provides expertise and familiarity in software tools, frameworks and best practices in secure software engineering. Collaborates effectively with other members of the team to deliver on the team’s backlog.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the discussion and implementation around complex capabilities.
  • Develops complex features and capabilities to enhance the Early Warning core product offerings.
  • Manages source code using Git.
  • Receives, reviews, and approves pull requests ensuring that code quality remains high.
  • Queries platform data using SQL-based DBs.
  • Works on complex Java Web Services using Spring Boot.
  • Documents complex details and decisions in Confluence.
  • Builds automated tests alongside sprint work that is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline, considering environment variables, and providing recommendations.
  • Able to troubleshoot complex bugs that may arise during development.
  • Supports the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience in Software Engineering or related experience.
  • Proficient with Git source control and Git flow branching model.
  • Spring / Spring Boot framework is required.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity writing automated tests.
  • Proficient with SQL.
  • Proficient in RESTful service design.
  • Experience with Docker/ Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SOAP services.
  • Familiarity working with common data format standards like XML, JSON, YAML, etc.
  • NoSQL experience (Redis, HBASE, AeroSpike, etc.).
  • FinTech experience is highly beneficial.

Physical Requirements

  • Working conditions consist of a normal office environment.
  • Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours.
  • Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers.
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

The base pay scale for this position in Phoenix, AZ is $118,000 - $152,000 per year. This pay scale is subject to change and is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, as it depends on factors considered at the time of job offer, including job scope, market rates, geographic location, candidate’s education, experience, training, and specialized skills or certification(s).
