Sr Software Engineer II
About the role
The International Squad is a full stack team at Axon Records, focusing on the internationalization and localization of features to support law enforcement agencies internationally. This role is a Senior Software Engineer position, requiring a strong background in front-end development with some back-end experience, and a passion for driving impactful projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, secure, high-performance software in a mission-critical space
- Lead technical projects from concept to launch, ensuring the solution meets business and technical requirements
- Collaborate across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to create solutions that delight our customers
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship for engineers in the team and across the group
- Lead engineering architecture design reviews and provide feedback to other engineers through channels like PR reviews
- Write and review design documents, library proposals, and technical vision documents
- Define and manage roadmaps for the technical backlog
- Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes across the group to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of professional software development experience
Experience designing and delivering highly-available, scalable cloud-based systems
Proficient in HTML, CSS, TypeScript/Javascript and component-based frameworks such as React.js
Back-end experience in languages such as Go, Scala, Java or similar
Experience working with SQL or NoSQL data stores
(Bonus) Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling such as TeamCity, Jenkins
(Bonus) Experience with an automated testing framework like Selenium, Puppeteer, or Playwright or automated API testing
Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based systems
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
