Sr. Software Engineer I
About the Role
Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. This role is suitable for full stack development and encompasses responsibilities typically associated with software engineering positions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable software applications using modern technologies and best practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to established coding standards and participating in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software defects and production issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the architectural design and technical direction of new and existing systems.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on relevant technologies (e.g., C#, .NET).
- Proven experience designing and building scalable, distributed, and high-performance systems.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with API design and development (RESTful, GraphQL).
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) if applicable to the role.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
