About the role
This role is part of the IT: Consumer Online & Publishing department at Nintendo of America (NOA) and acts as the direct contributor and key technology driver with a focus on the efforts and technologies that make up the global NOA product publishing pipeline (aka 3PT, Nintendo Developer Portal). The senior-level position will directly contribute to the sustainment and enhancement of the 3PT application portfolio, help ensure technical design integrity across efforts, collaborate on application architectural approaches, and ensure the veracity of software delivery estimates. This position will collaborate extensively with hosting teams, QA teams, project management, and NCL to define and improve the product.
Responsibilities
- Develops and modifies core application and development features of our global publishing pipeline, addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations, and monitoring needs.
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues.
- Documents all change through appropriate change control, writing technical documentation such as API documentation and runbooks.
- Maintains existing global publishing pipeline by adding/updating features, addressing live-site issues, improving reliability, etc.
- Translates business requirements into technical tasks.
- Participates in architecting and designing innovative solutions.
- Works with multiple teams, providing a large impact across the entire organization.
- Mentors more junior colleagues, potentially providing instruction (e.g., functioning as a team lead).
- Works with infrastructure as code (IaC) to deploy cloud (AWS) services.
- Maintains legacy systems to keep core business running.
- Provides constructive feedback on peers’ deliverables.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience with software development technologies, patterns, and practices.
- Broad understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post-graduate coursework preferred.
- Experience with container tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle, and non-relational databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or Terraform.
- Experience and confidence working within a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline using tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Artifactory, TeamCity, and Jenkins.
- Experience with frameworks and libraries such as Spring and React is a plus.
- Experience with multiple programming languages (Java, TypeScript, Python) preferred.
- Background in secure application development and/or partnering with security teams during the application development process preferred.
- Full-stack development experience a plus but not required.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division.
Pay
This position includes the base pay range of $145,150—$261,200 USD, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
