Sr. Software Engineer - 3D Workflows
About the role
Adobe's 3D & Immersive organization is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer with 3D pipeline experience to lead the 3D Workflows Team. You will help plan, invent, develop, and test software to support enterprise customers in using 3D digital twin assets for web and ecommerce.
Responsibilities
- Build, implement, and deploy 3D-centric web interfaces, pipelines, and APIs used by customers and other Adobe teams.
- Develop 3D pipelines to create scalable workflows enabling enterprise customers to compose, transform, review, render, and deliver high-quality digital twin content for ecommerce and web experiences.
- Work with USD scene structures, materials, lighting setups, cameras, references, and variants to support interoperable 3D workflows across Adobe tools.
- Build highly durable distributed web services and systems deployed on Kubernetes using AWS and Microsoft Azure, incorporating extensive monitoring.
- Collaborate with a multi-functional team of Frontend, Backend, and DevOps engineers based in the San Jose Area.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar specialty.
- Experience building and supporting web services at scale.
- Experience with 3D graphics production at scale, including photorealistic VFX production.
- Experience with asset interchange formats and rendering workflows including USD/OpenUSD, GLB/glTF, FBX, OpenPBR, Substance Materials, and related DCCs.
- Familiarity with OpenUSD scene graph concepts such as composition arcs, references, variants, shading/material networks, lighting, rendering, and camera setup, along with USD scripting.
- Familiarity with Agentic-based workflows.
- Programming experience with TypeScript/Node.js, Go, Python, and/or C++, React, Svelte.
- A passion for learning and contributing to all aspects of the system: user interface, APIs, persistence, and distributed systems.
- A desire to collaborate and communicate technical ideas with the team.

Pay
The U.S. pay range for this position is $159,200 – $301,600 annually, varying by work location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Specific pay ranges for certain states:
- California: $208,300 – $301,600
- Washington: $190,200 – $275,400
For sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (base + commission), with short-term incentives in the form of sales commission plans. For non-sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as base salary with short-term incentives in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
