About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineering (agentic Builders Experience Team) to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location and Compensation

Location: San Jose, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $208,300 – $301,600 annually

Responsibilities

  • Own reliability, availability, and performance for the execution platform
  • Define and operate SLOs and manage error budgets
  • Build an observability stack with metrics, logging, and tracing
  • Automate processes to reduce manual toil and manage capacity
  • Ensure fast and predictable provisioning under load
  • Lead incident responses and conduct blameless postmortems
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement lasting fixes
  • Design systems for execution isolation of untrusted workloads
  • Plan cloud capacity and manage costs while ensuring performance
  • Integrate reliability into the system architecture

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in software or infrastructure engineering
  • Experience with high-scale production systems focused on reliability
  • Deep understanding of SRE practices such as SLOs and observability
  • Strong expertise in AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with microVM or container technology (e.g. Firecracker, Kata)
  • Competency in coding languages such as Go, Python, or Java
  • Proficient in AI-assisted development and code review techniques
  • Experience influencing architectural decisions and hiring processes
