Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience operating production infrastructure, with a focus on Kubernetes and multi-cloud environments. Key responsibilities include architecting and operating multi-cloud infrastructure, designing and deploying Kubernetes platforms, building a unified deployment framework, setting Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and ensuring HIPAA-compliant deployments.

About the Role

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for designing and operating the core services that power Optura’s AI Platform. This includes orchestrating models and agents, managing reliability and observability, and ensuring the platform is hardened for regulated deployments. The role requires a deep understanding of Kubernetes, multi-cloud environments, and infrastructure as code (IaC).

Responsibilities

  • Architect and own Optura's multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure
  • Design and operate Kubernetes platforms for consistent operation across cloud and customer environments
  • Build a unified deployment framework for SaaS, BYOC, and on-prem deployments
  • Set Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and manage capacity planning, incident response, and postmortems
  • Drive reliability and performance through error budgets, chaos testing, and disciplined runbook quality
  • Harden the platform for HIPAA-compliant deployments, including tenant isolation, audit logging, RBAC, KMS, and secrets rotation
  • Lead the build-out of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and progressive delivery tools
  • Partner with engineering and security to establish guardrails and best practices

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience operating production infrastructure, including 3+ years in a senior SRE, platform, or staff infrastructure role
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including managed (EKS, GKE, AKS) and self-managed/on-prem distributions
  • Multi-cloud fluency across AWS, GCP, and Azure, with informed opinions on abstraction versus native cloud features
  • Expertise with Terraform (or Pulumi/Crossplane) and GitOps tooling
  • Experience shipping infrastructure to customer environments, including packaging, install/upgrade UX, and air-gapped artifacts
  • Strong networking, identity, and security fundamentals, including VPC design, service mesh, mTLS, OIDC, KMS, and secrets management
  • Production observability ownership, including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and distributed tracing
  • A track record of writing real code in Go, Python, or similar languages to extend the platform
  • Experience with HIPAA-regulated workloads, including BYOC or air-gapped customer deployments
  • Background with enterprise software delivery tooling such as Replicated, Cluster API, Talos, Rancher, and OpenShift
  • Built internal developer platforms that measurably reduced lead time for an engineering organization
  • FinOps experience, driving meaningful cloud spend reductions through architecture rather than just right-sizing
  • AI/ML infrastructure exposure, including GPU scheduling, model-serving stacks, and inference autoscaling
  • OSS contributions to infrastructure projects or strong opinions formed from running them at scale

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous paid time off
  • Professional growth and development opportunities
