Sr. Silicon Design Engineer
About the role
Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring a Senior Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. This role involves definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC and SOC development, including architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
You will architect verification environments for IP and SOC level test benches using UVM verification methodology with constrained random verification techniques in System Verilog. The role includes verification of IPs involving complex protocols such as PCIe and AXI, collaborating with the design team on code coverage and functional coverage closure, and using Python scripts for productivity enhancements. You will define module interfaces/formats for simulation and work on problems of moderate scope, exercising limited judgment within defined company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC and SOC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Architect verification environments for IP and SOC level test benches using UVM verification methodology and System Verilog.
- Verify IPs involving complex protocols such as PCIe and AXI.
- Work with the design team on code coverage and functional coverage closure.
- Use Python scripts for productivity enhancements.
- Define module interfaces/formats for simulation.
- Apply knowledge of computers, electronics, and engineering principles to design, develop, and test company products.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the following areas (may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience):
- Hardware verification
- Logic and circuit design
- Verilog / VHDL
- System Verilog
- Functional verification of microprocessors
- ASIC Design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis)
- Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification
- Front-End EDA tools
- Unix/Linux environments
- SV (System Verilog)
- UVM (Universal Verification Methodology)
