About the role

The Healthcare AI organization in AWS is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Development Manager to lead new v1 services alongside existing services such as HealthLake, Comprehend Medical, and HealthScribe. Our products help providers and payers improve health outcomes, reduce costs, and deliver exceptional care. You will lead multiple teams of software engineers and applied scientists, tackling the hardest engineering challenges to enable data processing, analytics, and machine learning solutions for our customers. Our services must be scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy, design, development, deployment, and operations for new and existing AWS services, working alongside teams like Amazon Connect, HealthLake, Comprehend Medical, and HealthScribe.
• Lead and mentor multiple managers and their teams, including software developers and applied scientists.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to define product vision, roadmap, and create impactful solutions.
• Build and grow high-performing teams in an intrapreneurial environment.
• Drive architectural decisions for large-scale, highly available cloud services.
• Ensure operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.
• Manage multiple concurrent programs and projects.
• Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and technical excellence.
• Solve complex challenges in healthcare through innovative use of cloud and AI technologies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing, and delivering consumer software.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an Agile environment.
• Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, natural language processing, or computer architecture.
• Experience developing, deploying, and managing AI products at scale.
• Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables.

Pay

• USA, CA, Mountain View: $253,100 - $342,300 USD annually
• USA, WA, Seattle: $220,100 - $297,700 USD annually
