Key job responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, scoping, implementation, and integration testing of performance optimizations and dataplane features that run on the EC2 Nitro System that power Machine Learning workloads.
- You set high standards for development processes, tools, and automation to enhance team productivity and quality.
- Own the team architecture and define best engineering practices on design and coding.
- You identify business problems and opportunities, and advocate for technical solutions that influences the technical roadmap for your team and partner teams.
- Mentor junior engineers with scoping, design, and developing scalable and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Product Managers, Sr TPMs, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, system architectures, and implement robust and scalable solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++
- Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals, including architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization of model execution
- Knowledge of machine learning model architecture and inference
- Experience developing low-level systems software, networking dataplane, or performance-critical services
