Sr Scientific Support Specialist

About the role

We seek an enthusiastic Lab Specialist to join our dedicated Scientific Support team at Unity Lab Services. You will be responsible for chemical inventory, lab support functions like glasswasher, and scientific support such as buffer preparation, ensuring labs are well-stocked, compliant, and operate efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Protein aliquots, sample preparation, and data analytics
• Endotoxin testing, Micro-capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, high throughput purification platform "P3" automated instrument, and mass spectrometry
• Maintain buffer levels and waste management
• Column and instrument maintenance (HPLC, MCE, AKTA, P3)
• May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education: HS Diploma & Associate's degree in related field required
• Experience: 1-2 years of work experience in a lab setting required

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach
• Ability to work independently and in team setting
• Ability to read and understand SDS documentation and DOT labeling requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Skills

• Physical strength to lift 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
• Ability to work in various temperature environments
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

Pay

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $21.82–$32.00.
