Sr. Sales Strategy and Operations Manager
About the Role
As a senior member of our Sales Strategy and Operations team, you will have an integral role in driving the insights, operations, and strategy that enables our Sales Region to run better, faster, and smarter as we expand. This role requires that you be on-site at our office in San Mateo, California 5 days a week.
Sales Strategy and Operations is an excellent platform to learn how a business really runs. You will gain exposure to a wide variety of challenges, processes, and data that makes the engine of this Sales organization hum. As a Manager, you will lead cross-functional initiatives from ideation to analytics to recommendations to drive impact across the sales organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 3 associates and senior associates to run monthly, quarterly, and annual compensation cycles for all sales roles across all regions and segments at Verkada.
- Drive planning and implementation of quotas (standard, custom) across various roles, new teams, reps, managers, leaders, geographies, and segments.
- Pull ongoing and ad hoc reporting for weekly and quarterly business reviews, providing insights to inform business decisions.
- Work with business stakeholders to develop, implement, and operationalize sales compensation planning.
- Identify and implement improvements in current workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and visibility, primarily in Salesforce.com and related tools.
- Act as a critical business partner to provide day-to-day support on comp data, system processes, and approval flows.
- Balance addressing immediate problems while building scalable solutions for long-term growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in sales, marketing, ops, product, finance, and more to troubleshoot systems issues, review insights, and build future-state processes.
Requirements
- High-impact self-starter who takes initiative and operates well with little guidance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure complex problems and drive decision-making; Excel skills are a must, and experience with sales compensation tools like CaptivateIQ is a plus.
- Process and operational thinking with the ability to independently iterate to solutions and document them clearly.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to connect with diverse teams, including sales reps and engineers.
- Flexibility and hustle to manage change, ambiguity, and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 5-7+ years of professional experience, ideally in consulting, banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or a startup.
- Managerial experience in Sales Operations and related roles and/or 2-3 years leading Sales Compensation teams in high-tech companies.
- Previous experience with Salesforce and Sales Operations/Strategy is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to commute to the San Mateo office 5 days a week.

Pay
Estimated Annual Pay Range: $204,000—$240,000 USD (on-target earnings, comprised of base compensation and commissions if applicable).
Additional compensation may include sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs).
