Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Health & Safety (H&S) contact for assigned region, ensuring strong safety performance and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to ensure daily activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Provide expert guidance on health and safety matters, procedures, and training programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on risk reduction, operational excellence, and safety performance.
- Support the development and execution of annual health and safety plans.
Safety Leadership & Risk Management
- Lead and facilitate elevated risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
- Conduct site inspections to identify safety and health hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Develop and implement safety policies, programs, procedures, and initiatives.
- Participate in and support the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Maintain a strong field presence to support operations and maintenance teams in safely executing work activities.
Incident Management & Compliance
- Lead or participate in incident, injury, and accident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Implement and ensure compliance with OSHA federal and state regulations and applicable legal requirements.
- Participate in compliance audits, self-verification assessments, workplace safety observations, and other compliance monitoring activities.
- Complete all assigned compliance tasks and documentation requirements.
- Develop cost-effective solutions to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance.
Safety Performance & Analytics
- Analyze and interpret safety performance metrics, including injury rates, workers' compensation data, and leading safety indicators.
- Monitor trends, identify emerging risks, and recommend proactive improvement strategies.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans to enhance safety outcomes.
- Support initiatives to reduce workers' compensation costs and general liability losses.
Training & Safety Culture
- Develop, deliver, and facilitate health and safety training programs for operations personnel.
- Promote a strong learning culture through lessons learned, safety observations, near-miss reporting, and incident investigations.
- Lead monthly safety awareness and engagement initiatives, including safety committee programs and campaigns.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and safety education activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (preferred) with 10 years of Health & Safety experience.
- Experience in health and safety management within operations, retail, manufacturing, logistics, energy, or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk management principles.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, and training skills.
- Ability to analyze safety data and implement performance improvement strategies.
- Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, or equivalent is preferred.
Pay
Base pay range: $90,000 – $130,000. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, long-term incentive program, and 401k matching program. Pension available for eligible employees.

Schedule
