About the role

This senior-level manager will develop, plan, direct, and implement organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. The role promotes and maintains a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Plan and deliver training programs to sites on relevant accident prevention and compliance programs.
  • Conduct analyses of accident causes and associated health hazards to target specific prevention strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation of incident reports, statistical analyses, and other reports for company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Audit facilities to detect existing or potential accidents, health hazards, and management system deficiencies.
  • Provide information and communication materials to worksites to assist with training, safety meetings, and other programs.
  • Coordinate the investigation of incidents and injuries with site managers.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 3–5 years of management experience.
  • Safety certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, practices, and procedures related to manufacturing safety.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.

Other details

  • Responsible for direct reports.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • This role may work in classrooms, offices, and high-traffic production floors.
