The Sr. Risk Management Consultant position is based in the United States and managed by a partner company. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality loss control consulting services to policyholders, agents, and internal teams.
- Serving as a technical advisor to underwriting teams by supporting risk evaluation, selection decisions, renewal strategies, pricing considerations, and profitable portfolio management.
- Conducting risk assessments, analyzing exposures, and preparing detailed professional reports that provide actionable recommendations for loss prevention and risk improvement.
- Developing and delivering innovative, cost-effective risk management solutions, tools, and service approaches that help identify, quantify, and reduce potential losses.
- Maintaining accurate loss control documentation and records while ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Researching and compiling technical information to support consulting activities and provide valuable insights to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Sharing technical resources, safety guidance, and industry best practices to enhance loss control capabilities and customer outcomes.
- Collaborating with underwriting, claims, and other business functions to strengthen risk management strategies and improve customer retention.
Requirements include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related applied science field.
- 7-10 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically providing loss control or risk management consulting services.
- A strong understanding of insurance coverage, risk evaluation principles, and loss prevention practices.
- Experience working directly with policyholders, agents, and underwriting teams to deliver consultative risk solutions.
- Ability to analyze complex risks, identify improvement opportunities, and communicate recommendations effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce professional technical reports and presentations.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ALCM, OSHT, ARM, ASP, CSP, or similar safety/risk management designations are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Must be based in or able to work from Nashville, Tennessee, with travel as required.
