Sr. RF engineer

About the Role

In this role, you will design, modify, and manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. You will serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. As an RF Design Engineer, your involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle, including product release, maintenance, and end-of-life decisions.

You will promote investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product management activities and ensure that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products, support existing products, and improve processes related to RF and communication design.
• Lead RF circuit design from concept to production for low-cost wireless communications product lines—complete radio transceiver design and layout including RF PA, LNA, RF filters and matching, synthesizers, VCOs, and mixers.
• Conduct RF circuit measurements using laboratory spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.
• Verify that designs meet requirements through analysis, simulation, and measurement. Compare results to theory and document findings. Carry out field studies and system test activities.
• Provide design and project support in project leadership, regulation, reliability, and component selection. Offer technical support to factory, service, and other internal departments.
• Coordinate and verify the work of support staff (technicians and CAD designers).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, or equivalent (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of related industrial experience.
• In-depth understanding of electronic circuits, RF circuits, and microwave theory.
• Strong grasp of RF systems and wireless communication systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• RF certification experience (preferred).
• Expertise in communication theory and digital signal processing (preferred).
• Experience with advanced modeling and simulation (preferred).

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in Oconee, South Carolina is $68,911–$161,544 per year. Capgemini provides this range in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as geographic location, education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, market considerations, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on position and applicable laws.
