Sr. Revenue Accountant

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to support revenue growth through customer focus, relationship development, and disciplined commercial execution. This role collaborates with sales, customer, product, and operational partners to identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve outcomes in a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and analyze complex revenue streams for accurate ASC 606 treatment
• Interpret customer contracts, identifying performance obligations and revenue timing
• Prepare and review detailed revenue schedules, ensuring accuracy of key balances
• Resolve intricate revenue accounting issues using sound judgment and technical guidance
• Draft and document technical accounting memos that detail conclusions and implications
• Ensure SOX compliance through effective internal control processes over revenue
• Collaborate with Sales and Legal teams to structure contracts aligned with revenue recognition

Qualifications

• 8+ years in revenue accounting or technical accounting, focusing on ASC 606 and complex contracts in SaaS environments
• Advanced degrees or CPA preferred
• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
• Significant experience with multi-element contract analysis and complex customer contracts
• Expertise in deferred revenue, contract balances, and revenue accounting processes
• Thorough understanding of SOX compliance and internal financial reporting controls
• Proficient in ERP systems and revenue subledger tools like NetSuite
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication skills

Pay

$105,600 – $132,000 annually
