Responsibilities
- Develop advanced experimental workflows for profiling the molecular contents and biological states of thousands of individual cells or nuclei in brain tissue.
- Apply or develop technologies to profile brain cell types.
- Plan and oversee experiments; create DNA-barcoding reagents; extract cells or nuclei from brain tissue; cell culture; sequencing.
- Carry out independent research, analyze sequence-based data, and contribute to other projects as needed.
- Train and oversee laboratory technicians, rotation students, undergraduates, and interns.
- Participate in collaborative and consortia meetings, contribute to progress reports, publications, and presentations at scientific conferences.
Qualifications
- Master's degree and 7+ years of experience in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field.
- Extensive wet-lab experience and experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, cloning, sequencing).
- Highly organized and excellent note-taking and communication skills (written and oral).
- Research experience in neuroanatomy, single-cell sequencing, advanced molecular biology techniques, smFISH/histology/imaging, and quantitative/programming skills preferred.
