Sr Research Investigator (Lab of Dr. Christine Eischen)

About the role

The Sr Research Investigator (SRI) will oversee all fundamental activities in the laboratory, manage multiple research projects, and support the scientific management of laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develops strategic plans for project objectives and experiment timelines.
• Carries out complex laboratory experiments or delegates procedures to laboratory staff.
• Trains and supervises laboratory staff in technical procedures, processes, and methods.
• Maintains laboratory members' training in the use of research equipment and standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Identifies and recommends improvements to enhance rigor and reproducibility.
• Maintains progress of research and ensures high-quality results are achieved.
• Safeguards research adherence to university, state, and federal regulations.
• Prepares and presents oral and written reports, including posters, presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts.
• Writes and edits experimental and technical sections of grant applications.

Requirements

• MD or PhD in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field required.
• At least 5 years of lab management experience required.
• Proven expertise in immunology and hands-on experience with flow cytometry, including data analysis and interpretation.

Qualifications

• Strong technical, analytical, management, organizational, communication, and writing skills.
• Solid base knowledge of advanced scientific principles and methods.
• Familiarity with a wide range of laboratory equipment.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to write and edit grant applications.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and standard operating procedures.
