Research Assistant Senior (Lab of Dr. Christine Eischen)

About the Role

The research assistant carries out experiments as part of a team of bio-medical researchers to investigate the molecular mechanisms mediating diseases. They will also record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a lab database of technical and animal protocols, plasmids, antibodies and other key resources
• Keeps accurate records of reagents
• Troubleshoots experimental design malfunctions and implements solutions; interfaces directly with equipment manufacturers for adjustments and repairs
• Instructs research personnel on specialized techniques and complex protocols; coordinates and participates in intra-collegial presentations and meetings
• Trains and mentors research personnel
• Analyzes results of experiments independently
• Develops scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory
• Designs experiments to test hypotheses

Requirements

• Minimum four (4) years experience in bench research required
• Master's Degree

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in immunology
• Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, including data analysis and interpretation
