Sr Research Engineer
About the role
A senior-level role that leads strategic, multidisciplinary projects, serves as a thought leader, and builds the company’s innovation network. As an Sr Research Engineer, you will run complex research projects with minimal oversight, create new conceptual designs and validate them, contribute to the innovation strategy, serve as a mentor and leader across engineering levels, educate other G&W teams on new technology and processes, consult and support other teams as needed within your area of expertise, oversee critical research and innovation initiatives from more junior engineers, build partnerships with universities, labs, and research centers, represent the organization at global technical conferences, publish research findings and contribute to organizational IP, develop schedules, coordinate, and manage feasibility projects of minor to major size with little to no supervision, develop budgets with little to no supervision.
Responsibilities
- Create new conceptual designs and validate them.
- Serve as a mentor and leader across engineering levels.
- Contribute to the innovation strategy.
- Educate other G&W teams on new technology and processes.
- Consult and support other teams as needed within area of expertise.

Requirements
- Holds a BSEE or BSME and 15+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in technical organizations.
- Advanced skills in managing research ecosystems.
- Extensive knowledge of research methodologies and industry standards.
- Recognized as an expert in high voltage technology.
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- A strong network of academic and industry collaborators.
- Proven ability to influence strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Education: BSEE or BSME.
- Experience: 15+ years.

Benefits
The typical pay range is $96,555 – $128,577 annually. Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.
