Sr. Reliability Test Engineer

About the role
The Test Engineering team at Harbinger Motors is involved in the validation and reliability testing at the vehicle, sub-system, and component levels. The team is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in reliability metrics, calculations, and hands-on reliability testing. This key team member will own developing reliability test profiles for various vehicle systems and hardware.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the product design engineers to ensure that products can meet desired life targets
- Perform reliability calculations and develop detailed test-plans for accelerated lifecycle tests
- Lead the execution of reliability tests
- Lead root cause analysis of test failures and/or field failures
- Support cross-functional DFMEA sessions
- Travel to offsite test locations as needed
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop in-house test infrastructure required to test and validate various systems and components
- Train personnel on the required processes and operations of complex test systems
- Ensure that all tests are conducted in compliance with all safety protocols
- Document the results in a report and present it to stakeholders
- Participate in discussions with suppliers, supplier quality team, and design team to improve product reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in either Engineering or Material Science with 5+ years of industry experience in the field of reliability
- Experience with performing reliability calculations and developing test profiles
- Experience with hands-on testing of either PCBAs, battery, or thermal systems
- Experience with coding languages and applications for data analysis, such as Python or Matlab
- Good technical writing skills for documenting test reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with EV powertrain architecture and associated HV devices, such as DCDC converters, on-board chargers, junction boxes, inverters, battery, thermal systems, etc.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization relevant to product reliability
- Experience with HV testing

Pay
California Pay Range $120,000—$140,000 USD
