Sr. R&D Technician – Disposables
About the role
Vantive is seeking a Mechanical Testing and Material Characterization Laboratory Associate to perform a variety of research and development tasks and experiments. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2+ years of experience in medical devices, and a working knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed analyses and tests
- Compile observations, analyze data, and interpret results
- Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory levels, and lab organization
- Write reports, summaries, and protocols
- Build engineering prototypes
- Utilize measurement equipment for product inspections
- Coordinate calibration of equipment
- Work with suppliers and procurement to obtain samples and products
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in applied science or technology preferred
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in medical devices
- Working knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485
- Experience with disposables R&D and/or disposables manufacturing
- Experience with plastics processing and secondary operations (e.g.: extrusion, injection molding, solvent bonding, RF welding)
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent understanding of quality systems and processes, manufacturing, and product development processes
- Self-directed, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Proficient use of laboratory equipment and tools
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP desired
- Proficient in recording original data
- Basic understanding of documentation systems

Vantive offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $58,000 to $73,000 annually, with potential for discretionary bonuses. Pay
The estimated base salary for this position is $58,000 to $73,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
