Sr. R&D Technician – Disposables
About the role
We are seeking a Sr. R&D Technician – Disposables to join our team in Plymouth, Minnesota. As a member of our R&D department, you will work on assignments in mechanical testing and material characterization laboratory that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide variety of research and development tasks and experiments in mechanical testing and material characterization laboratory per company procedures.
- Perform detailed analyses and tests. Assist in compiling observations, analyzing data and interpreting results.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory levels, and lab organization.
- Aid in writing reports, summaries, and protocols. Maintain record keeping for experiments performed.
- Perform troubleshooting and coordinate calibration of equipment.
- Build engineering prototypes.
- Work with suppliers and procurement to obtain samples and products.
- Utilize measurement equipment to complete product inspections.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in applied science or technology preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in medical devices.
- Working knowledge of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485.
- Experience preferred with disposables R&D and/or disposables manufacturing.
- Experience preferred with plastics processing and secondary operations (e.g.: extrusion, injection molding, solvent bonding, RF welding).

- Proficient use of laboratory equipment and tools.
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP desired.
- Proficient in recording original data.
- Ability to use computer for word processing, spreadsheets, document retrieval, e-mail, business calendars.
- Basic understanding of documentation systems.

Pay
The estimated base salary for this position is $58,000 to $73,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
Schedule
Minimum of 3 days a week onsite.
