About the Role
Participates in engineering projects impacting capacity, productivity, quality, cost reduction, and new product development. Performs multiple assignments of moderate to complex scope with minimal guidance from supervisor, engineers, technicians, or detailed procedures. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment for assignments. Evaluates and analyzes information to determine the effect of proposed changes. Serves as a resource to the facility, providing support and problem-solving in areas of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Creates, updates, interprets, and defines moderately complex models, drawings, and assemblies as required.
- Conducts and/or defines moderately complex tests and set-ups.
- May assist with capital equipment justifications, procurement, or quoting costs.
- Recommends solutions for standard problems (software, hardware, equipment, products, processes).
- Develops and/or analyzes new or changed products/processes for basic effect on product definition.
- Drafts plans for testing of concepts, design changes, or project milestone completions to be reviewed by engineering or project leader.
- Presents information to others within and outside Swagelok on a fundamental level.
- Trains technicians and non-technical associates; may review the work of other technicians.
- Assists others through moderately complex tasks.
- Utilizes systems to perform duties and process changes to products/procedures.
- Serves as a resource for manufacturing and assembly operations as needed for specific product questions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Some technical courses or on-the-job training in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- Proficient user of moderately technical tools.
- Recognized as a resource in areas of expertise.
- Demonstrates proficient communication, programming, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong abilities in the use of moderately technical tools and lab equipment and instrumentation (equipment may vary based on department).
- Good computer and typical office software skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
