Sr. Quality Engineer

About the role

Eaton’s Electrical Division is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer based at the South Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility. Relocation is offered.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement activities in all areas of manufacturing in support of the Eaton Quality System (EQMS) and the Eaton Business System (EBS).
• Provide support and Quality Leadership for supplier quality, process, and customer quality.
• Manage customer complaints (internal‑external) related to the facility and track, monitor and initiate Corrective Actions.
• Lead cross‑functional teams in problem solving and issue analysis to address scrap, customer or production related issues.
• Support production manufacturing with problem solving, process improvements and resolution to manufacturability issues.
• Provide support and guidance to quality technicians and inspectors.
• Directly support ISO 9001 quality system and support the implementation and management of the site quality system and procedures (EQMS).
• Lead the EASE (Layered Process Audit) and MRB (Material Review Board) processes.
• Identify gaps at the plant level and execute improvement activity.
• Execute or facilitate all aspects of APQP and Part Approval and sign‑off for both suppliers and customers; manage revisions of process control documents such as PFMEAs, Control Plans and other quality tools to ensure compliance.
• Work with suppliers to initiate and close Corrective Actions and ensure root causes are properly identified and eliminated.
• Develop strategic plans based on statistical data and results to improve department quality performance.
• Review supplier PPAP submissions including control plans and assist with control plan creation where necessary; ensure all appropriate Special Characteristics are included, reaction plans are adequate and customer approval is obtained where necessary.
• Work with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure quality criteria are clearly identified on newly established parts and communicated to suppliers.
• Partner with engineering to support all development projects and milestones related to Quality and improve the overall process to achieve zero‑defect quality and launch readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quality.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience using ISO 9001 or TS 16949.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future; Eaton will not sponsor immigration visas (e.g., CPT, OPT, H‑1B, etc.).

Skills

• APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification (preferred).
• Experience with SAP ECC, MRP planning, purchasing, or production scheduling modules (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (preferred).
• Strong analytical, project management, problem‑solving, and facilitation abilities (preferred).

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 – $126,000 a year (guideline only; salaries are based on
