About the role
The Sr. PX Generalist supports the delivery and execution of People & Experience (PX) strategies for Deckers Brand functions. This role partners closely with managers and employees to provide day-to-day consultation across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring alignment with PX policies, programs, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Partner with PX leadership and Talent Management to support Talent Review, workforce planning, succession planning, and capability-building workshops
- Facilitate workshops and trainings for local rollout of PX programs and initiatives
- Advises leaders on drafting competencies and job descriptions, ensuring alignment with organizational standards
- Collaborates with PX and Compensation teams on new role assessments, leveling, and compensation recommendations
- Manages biannual promotions process, including intake, review, leveling, tracking, communication, and post-approval execution
- Responds to escalated inquiries related to PX practices, tools, and procedures; routes to appropriate stakeholders as needed
- Leads onboarding for assigned client groups, including orientation, documentation, approvals, and survey insights
- Manages workplace flexibility requests, partnering with Legal, Tax, Payroll, Benefits, and Mobility
- Supports communication and rollout of PX programs (performance management, compensation review, goal-setting)
- Provides administrative and project support for organizational changes, restructures, and Brand PX initiatives
- Guides managers on performance and employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, coaching, and policy interpretation
- Reviews and advises on performance-related documentation and corrective actions
- Conducts exit interviews, synthesizes themes, and provides actionable coaching insights
- Affords assistance with ER investigations and supports involuntary terminations, including documentation and payroll coordination
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of progressive experience across two or more areas: HR generalist work, shared services, organizational development, compensation, benefits, recruiting, L&D, or employee relations
- Strong execution skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Self-directed with strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experienced in project management from planning through execution and evaluation
- Customer-service oriented, delivering consistent, high-quality guidance
- Proven ability to build influential relationships across levels and functions
- High integrity with ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately
- Strong consulting and assessment skills, able to identify gaps and move stakeholders toward solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to multiple audiences
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
